Bezae Codex transcript not aligned correctly in Matthew chapter 1.

It aligns Mat. 1:1 with Mat 1:21, Mat 1:2 with Mat 1:22, and so on…

I’m finding it very difficult to line up the GNT papyri transcripts with the notes. The hyperlinks don’t work even though I have the modules installed. Even when added as a parallel pane, the notes don’t really line up, it displays all the notes for the whole papyrus together and I have to scroll far up and down to get the correct note.

The Papyri transcripts are not reliable. They contain mistakes which renders this module of little use for textual criticism.

For example, in Rev 13:6-7 the Accordance Module for P47 “νω σκηνουντας και εδοθη”, but it should really say “νω και εδοθη”!

In Matthew 1:6, The accordance transcript for P1 reads: “της του ουρειου”, but P1 really reads “της ουρειου” (confirmed by CNTTS). Though the mss. is damaged, one can see the “της” and the “ουρειου” in the papyrus fragment and there is nothing in-between.

The Alexandrinus transcript is also not accurate.

E.g., in Revelation 9:11 the Alexandrinus module reads “εαυτοων,” but the real manuscript reads “επ αυτων”.
In Revelation 16:5 the Alexandrinus transcript reads “ο ην ο οσιος”, but the manuscript reads “ο ην οσιος”.
In Revelation 1:12 the Alexandrinus transcript reads “ελαλει”, but the manuscript reads “λαλει”.

Such differences are important in textual criticism, and I really hope that these modules will be thoroughly re-checked against the manuscripts to ensure that they are accurate.

OakTree: if you can’t correct the errors, please give us the ability to make corrections to modules and share the corrections with others! This really is a serious problem! Who wants to buy a module full of errors that you refuse to fix?
