This book is well-rounded, easy to understand, and balanced in its perspective. The author presents some of his personal opinions, but always with a carefulness. My perspective is from someone who is in an intermediate stage of learning Hebrew, and this book did a good job of informing me on the nuances of the academic debates concerning Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic.
